Whatever type of light fitting you‘re thinking of purchasing, you should take time to think about the effect you‘re hoping to achieve, and this means taking into account the size of the space you are planning to illuminate as well as the rest of the dcor. It‘s common sense, after all, that if you’re lighting, say, a narrow hallway, you’ll need a smaller fitting than if you were lighting a large lounge or dining room. In fact, in the larger space you will need more than one pendant to prevent casting ugly shadows.
Forget glass blown shades filled with dead flies; the modern pendant light bears little relation to those old things, although, of course, if you‘re after 1950‘s realism there is no other choice. Most of us, though, would rather have one of the contemporary light fittings that fall in the pendant category - the whimsical, the elegant or the just plain funky.
Outside entryway pendant lights- Pendant lights are a fantastic addition to outside entryways. Hanging them above a gate or pathway to or from your home will not only look classy but also help to maintain the safety of walkway and gate users.
