These aren’t the only type of shades available; think of a shape and the chances are somebody has designed a pendant light shade to match. You will find triangles, rectangles, globes, bowls, squares, and probably artful combinations of two or more of them. Then there’s frosted glass, painted glass, coloured glass, resin, metal, fabric... The permutations of shape and material are endless and some designers have used them to stunning effect.
Pendant lights of relatively simple design, that are strictly functional, and low on aesthetic appeal, can be bought in local hardware stores, or on the internet, from websites that provide online catalogues.
If you’re considering hanging these lights above a table or counter, the general rule will be to hang them approximately 30 to 40 inches above the work surface. Before finalizing the installation, check the height. If someone’s in a sitting position at the table, the light should not be in way.
However, when you hang the pendant light over your study table, do you have the same set of expectation? No way - simply dispersing medium amount of light to the entire study room would be a complete wastage. You would rather prefer the light to focus upon your study table and illuminate the table sufficiently such that you do not have to stress your eyes to read. The same can be said about your dining table - you would want the light to focus on the table rather than disperse all around.
Home interior lighting: Your home interior can be lightened up by glass lighting. You need to identify the area that you want to light up. Once you have one so, install a few such lights at uniform spacing fro the best of looks. If you are running relatively hard on budget then you can simply install one pendant in a central position of the area and add a powerful light in the pendant.
